Bone Lake has the bones of an effective thriller: attractive images, carefully constructed suspense, emotional manipulation and the promise of blood once all that teasing finally breaks. The problem is that the tension stretches longer than the payoff can support, and most of the destination is visible well before the movie arrives there. A late creepy turn adds some interest without retroactively making the slow journey gripping. This is polished enough to watch and too boring to prioritize. Streaming is the right home for it.

I liked it well enough, but this is one I’d definitely wait to catch on streaming. It’s well made for what it is, drawn-out suspense, lots of teasing and emotional manipulation, all leading to a bloody ending. It’s pretty to look at and clearly well constructed, but honestly… just kind of boring. The "bones" are there for a good movie, but the tension doesn't lead to a good payoff. You kinda see where this is going other than a creepy twist at the end.
