Spoiler-free review
Everything has a pace, and Cloud chooses the speed of a slow-burning fuse attached to nothing. It burns, burns some more and finally fizzles without the release that might justify all that patience. I struggled to understand anyone’s motivation beyond the protagonist’s business interests, repeatedly checked the time and began nodding off while waiting for the acclaim to explain itself. The surviving characters almost seem positioned for a more interesting movie that will never exist. See it and decide for yourself; I found setup without destination.

EVERYTHING HAS A PACE.
And this one is slow. I was told going in that this would be a bit of a slow burn. Well, it is that. It's just that it's a slow burning fuse with no explosive at the end. It just burns and burns and ultimately fizzles out.
I tried to find something in this that justifies the positive noise, but I just don't see it. I found myself nodding off and looking at my watch several times during this one.
I didn't understand the motivations of anyone in this film other than the protagonist and even for him it's only when he's engaging his business that I understand what his motivations are.
It almost seems like this entire movie was a set up for a better and potentially more interesting movie with the surviving characters, one that we will probably never see.
Anyways, see it and decide for yourselves.
