Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale understands that completing a beloved series is less about reinventing its world than giving its people the farewell they have earned. The result is elegant, emotionally satisfying and appropriately final without treating closure as a checklist. Years of attachment do much of the work, as they should; this is a conclusion for viewers who already know what every room and relationship means. It is an excellent ending to a great series.
