Lee Cronin's The Mummy review

Spoiler-free review

Lee Cronin’s The Mummy tested me with dumb plotting and enough boredom to require caffeine, but I was prepared to endure both. What I was not prepared to accept was a Latin family apparently included so the film could mistreat an elderly religious woman and use her rosary for provocation. No, sir. If Cronin needs that image, he can write an elderly Irish Catholic woman and do it to his own people. I walked out with twenty minutes remaining. If curiosity ever returns, an AI can tell me how it ended; the movie forfeited the right.

Justice for abuelita!

Dude included a Latin family just to do that with a rosary. No sir. Do that to your own people Mr. Cronin. You're Irish, throw some work to one of your own. Write an elderly religious Irish Catholic woman in there for you to disrespect and abuse.

I was OK with all of the dumb. I caffeinated my way through the boredom. But fuck that. Walked out with 20 minutes left. I'll ask Grok to tell me how it ended if I ever care to know.
