Maalik review

Spoiler-free review

Maalik came close to receiving no stars at all, but the pre-intermission half was not quite as awful as everything that followed, and two genuinely good songs deserve acknowledgment. The late spectacle of its supposed protagonist losing control and becoming an apparently bulletproof rage monster also supplies the kind of ridiculous commitment the rest of the film lacks. Those fragments earn half a star. They do not make the movie good; they merely prevent its failure from being mathematically complete.

I almost no starred this, but the half of the movie prior to the intermission wasn't as awful as the rest of the film. There were also two good songs and I'm a huge fan of the part near the end when the protagonist(?) loses control and turns into an unkillable bulletproof rage monster.
