Tanvi the Great review

Spoiler-free review

Tanvi the Great finds real charm in watching a young autistic woman discover how much she can achieve when people finally give her room to learn. That uplifting journey sits inside what sometimes resembles an advertisement for the Indian military—even though the institution is also the obvious barrier standing between Tanvi and the dream everyone except her understands may be impossible. The contradiction is strange: resolutely positive and pro-military while showing the military as the central obstacle. I enjoyed her growth and the warmth surrounding it, but not enough to revisit the campaign.

This was somewhat charming. It was exciting to watch the young autistic woman achieve more and more as she was given a chance to learn.  On the other hand, this was almost like an advertising campaign for the Indian military, which is weird because we know that she would not be allowed to join the Indian military and that fact was clear to the audience and everyone in the movie but the protagonist the entire time. So positive and pro military, but the military was the biggest obstacle in our protagonist's path.

Anyways. I enjoyed watching this, but I wouldn't watch it again.
