Redux Redux review

By Joel Humphries · Watched 02.22.26

★★★★ 4 / 5

Spoiler-free review

Redux Redux respects its premise enough to begin telling the story instead of spending twenty minutes apologizing for how its universe works. There is no pseudoscientific lecture, expensive explanatory CGI or dialogue built solely to connect imaginary mechanics; the movie establishes rules and trusts us to follow them. That confidence creates room for momentum and fun, even if the ending invites a few notes. Genre stories rarely become smarter by explaining every impossible thing. This one understands that clarity and explanation are not the same, then runs with the distinction.

I love the fact that they just ran with the premise instead of spending 15 to 20 minutes of screen time trying to explain to us how it works.

No pseudoscience, no link the exposition, no expensive and distracting CGI. Just give us a set of rules for your universe and tell your story.

I might have a few notes on the ending, but this is a lot of fun. Go see it.
